Lymphocyes, is this too low??

Hi,

I have had lymphocytes on the low end over the last couple of years. My average for Absolute Lymphocytes has been 700 - 1300 during this time. Over the last few months my lymphocytes has went from 1200, to 900 and two weeks ago it was 650. The lymphocyte count was at %11. Here was the lab. Even though my labs have always been low, my doctor still wants to just wait and see before sending me to see a hematologist. I saw one back last year because I was constantly mildly anemic with a low retic count, but the hematologist did not want to do a bone marrow biopsy. I'm hoping one can be done now as this has shown up.

WBC: 5.76 (range 4.5 - 11)
ABS Neutrophils: 4.19 (ref range 2.0 - 6.3)
ABS Lymphocytes: 0.65 (ref range 1.5 - 3.5) LOW
ABS Monocytes: 0.57 (ref range 0.2 - 0.8)
ABS Eosinophils: 0.31 (ref range 0.04 - 0.4)
ABS Basophils: 0.03 (ref range 0.00 - 0.1)

RBC: 4.5 (range 4.5 - 5.5)
HCT: 38.5 (range 40 - 45)
HB: 139 (range 137 - 155)
PLT: 180 (range 150 - 400)

Hi there. Lymphocytopenia is lymphocyte count of < 1000/mic liters.
Causes of lymphocytopenia are protein energy undernutrition, AIDS, infections like hepatitis, influenza, TB, typhoid fever, iatrogenic use of glucocorticoids,  aplasia of stem cells, as an association with autoimmune diseases like SLE, RA, myasthenia gravis and protein losing enteropathy.
Lymphocytocytopenia doesn’t cause any symptoms, only those of associated disorder like reduced tonsils and lymph nodes indicating cellular immunodeficiency, skin abnormalities like alopecia, eczema, hematological disease like pallor, petechiae, or mouth ulcers and generalized lymphadenopathy suggestive of HIV infection.
Management requires treatment of the underlying disorder, sometimes IV immune globulin.
Hematocrit and hemoglobin are also on the lower side and need to be addressed by the hematologist. Hope this helps. Take care.
