New to the blood disorder game

My 33 year old daughter had a stroke 3 years ago and since then has had 3 DVTs, and 2 mini strokes.  8 weeks ago she had blood work done and we found out that she has a clotting disorder which has yet to be identified to us.  Her hematologist said the blood work can take several weeks before we get a diagnosis.  She has gone to the Coumadin clinic once a week for the last 8 weeks and her INR levels have been in the 2 range.  3 days ago she woke up in severe pain.  Upon urinating she found she was bleeding.  She went to the emergency room and was admitted.  Her PPT level was 111 and her INR was 9.  After CTs and ultra sounds we were told that her bladder was bleeding because of the high INR level.  They stopped the Coumadin and started giving her vitamin K.  After 2 days her level went to 7 then in 7 hours her level went to 2.6 starting yesterday.  She has not had any blood thinners since being admitted 3 days ago.  She was discharged today with an INR level of 1.6 and a prescription to get a new blood thinning medication.  Does anyone have any input on what is happening to my daughter?

a few blood thinner meds like XARELTO, Pradaxa, Eliquis and aspirin.
Your daughter has to watch her diet on Warfarin (coumadin). Many foods and supplements can thin the blood! I have 2 genetic factors for having blood clots.
Prothrombin gene mutation and Lupus anticoagulants. When they find the gene mutation ask if it's inherited! if so your family and if she has children should be tested to see if they have them!

There are other medications, maybe only one and I don't remember the name, that works differently than coumadin.  It is normally taken without any need to take INR readings.  This may be an answer if your daughter can not tolerate coumadin/warfarin.
