AVM is arteriovenous malformation which is an abnormal cluster of blood vessels in the brain or spine that can cause devastating neurological symptoms or even death. The most common presenting symptom for patients with an AVM is brain hemorrhage. Other symptoms are seizures, headaches, weakness and difficulty with speaking or swallowing and long term or short term memory loss.
