feeling awful!

feeling awful!

I recently went to dr for spinning head (so I would call it) I had an ear infection, when i finish antibiotics i went back with head still spinning, he referred me to ENT, all ear test showed ok there, still there was no explanation for confusion, memory loss, head spinning, headaches, mood swings, personality change... just feeling awful...so ENT refers me to another ENT to do balance testing, all came back fine...except the standing test showed my Center of Gravity was OFF some where, then I see Neurologist first thing out of his mouth after my big spill on feeling awful...lets test your B12 he says to me wouldn't that be nice if thats all it was. I do MRI just in case...came back fine...blood work shows B12 is 189....started shots right away...1 shot per day for 3 days then one every 2 weeks...the morning after my first shot...my head felt better than ever...over the next week after stopping shots...i quickly go downhill...took another shot early a few days later felt like a million bucks...then down hill i go again...I can't sleep because heart is racing...pulse at 105 average and 120 this morning...took med to calm down helped a tiny bit...also my side under rib cage has been hurting and burning...had gallstones & gallbadder removed 4 years ago 4 months after having first child by c-sec...I have never been the same since. Someone please help with some info if you have some. Neurologist changed me to one shot per week...took shot Sunday...felt awful monday & great tuesday...wed little worse...thursday awful again! I feel so lost on who to see what to do...nurse at Neurologist told me i needed to seek proffession help she thought i was crazy. Cried & Cried..this is a health issue not something I can help. She also told me there's no known reason for b12 deficiency...from what i've read it could be a million diff things, could this be caused by gallbladder removal? I just don't know what to do. Thought finally B12 someone found the cause for me feeling so bad...all they tell me is take the shots for the rest of my life. OMY!

I have autoimmune pernicious anaemia and i take sublingual (under the tongue) B12 spray daily - 2000mcg. I have done this for two years with good results.  I was told i needed an injection every 3 months for life. Not happy with that diagnosis, i researched scientific papers and other websites and trialed the sublingual B12 option. Optimal B12 serum is over 800pg/mL or 600pmol/L.

If your gallbladder is removed, you may have trouble absorbing fats, which can also cause a deficiency of some fat soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E, and K. However, gallbladder removal does not directly affect vitamin B12 absorption.

Causes of vitamin B12 deficiency:

Decreased stomach acid
Atrophic gastritis
Autoimmune pernicious anaemia
Helicobacter pylori
Gastrectomy, intestinal resection
Gastric bypass surgery
Malabsorption syndromes
Crohn's disease
Celiac disease (gluten enteropathy)
Chronic pancreatitis
Bacterial overgrowth (small bowel)
Fish tapeworm
Alcoholism
Malnutrition - eating disorders
Vegetarianism
Advanced liver disease
Transcobalamin II deficiency
Inborn errors of B12 metabolism
Certain drugs - eg: nexium, metformin, antibiotics
Nitrous oxide
