iron study

In my iron study test:
my iron was 91
my iron binding was 501 and my % saturation was 18.
what could this mean for me?

Hi!
The normal range of serum iron is 60–170 μg/dl (10–30μmol/L), 91 falls within normal range. The normal iron binding capacity is 240–450 μg/dl, so 501 is slightly higher. The normal % saturation is 12–45% (females), so 18 is normal.
Isolated high iron binding is usually seen with use of hormonal contraceptives. Please discuss with your treating doctor. Take care!
