numb cold spot on leg

For the past few weeks I have been getting this random cold/numb sensation in my upper thigh. usually in one particular spot. it does not hurt or have any other symptoms there is no reddness. i can not tell if it is swollen comapred to the other side but it does not really seem to be. It usually happens after I have been sleeping. And that part of the leg is usually a little cold to the touch. I am also 19 weeks pregnant to. I am worried it could be a blood clot. Does it soud typical of a blood clot or something else? it also does not seem to stay all day and if it does i dont notice it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. This could be meralgia paresthetica that can cause burning pain over the front and outside of the thigh. A nerve passes just over the brim of the pelvis and down the outside of thigh. This is lateral cutaneous nerve, supplying the brain with information about sensation over the front and outside the thigh. This is caused by compression of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve and seen frequently seen in pregnancy.
The symptoms are pain and burning over the outside of thigh, numbness over the outside of the thigh, sensitivity of light touch, and recent weight gain of pregnancy. Treatment for pregnant patients includes cortisone injection around the nerve. Usually it will settle after delivery of the baby. Take care.
