bone grafting/bone tumor

i had a bone tumor (enchondroma) on my right ulna. it cause my forearm to break. anyway, Ive had surgery on Oct 20 2009. and i had intralesional curettage and bone grafting done to my forearm. well..... problem is that my bone is still not 100% healed. i don't wear a cast or nothing. cast was removed Dec 17 2009. its like i have a soft tender spot at the surgery site. my bone aches and throbs sometimes......i don't know what going on. i thought the doctor fixed the problem. but i made a appointment with him for the 21....... any suggestions?

Are you a smoker?  It is strongly discouraged while the graft is healing.  Also, screws are sometimes attached to strengthen the adjacent bone structure.

Miami515ri,

Smoking constricts blood vessels.  Your bone graft needs to develop blood vessels to form a union with existing bone.  Your Doctor or Surgeon can help you.  Good luck and be well!
