scared of undiagnosed bone cancer or mets

I have been told I am a bit of a medical mystery....I suffered from 2 broken ribs (no trauma) following a bout of walking pneumonia.  They took months to heal and they still hurt sometimes.  Now I am having extreme shoulder pain and arm pain which is dull and throbbing in nature...I've been told it could be nerve related but I keep thinking maybe I have some kind of undiagnosed cancer that is causing bone mets or Multiple Myeloma???  I have had a chest ct, bone scan, abdominal ultrasound, spine ct, numerous chest xrays, tons of blood work etc.  The only thing they have found was 2 fractured ribs, some mild scarring on in my upper lungs and a hotspot on my left scapular spine which apparently is nothing.   I am so scared...and so tired of being in pain!!!!  Can someone help me ???

The two broken ribs are perfectly logical especially if you had very constricting coughs.  Bone pain is sometimes very intense.  Time will allow them to heal.  Are you sure the hot spot is on the spine?  Scapular usually refers to a shoulder bone.  I had a hotspot as well on the scapular and the shoulder became inflamed.  The pain is not pleasant but will eventually go away.  Physical Therapy may help ease the pain and alllow you to find methods to alleviate it.

Hi Eddie 1994 thanks for responding!!!!  And yes it is on the scapular spine...which is part of the shoulder blade and that shoulder has been sore and inflamed as well.  Now I am having pain and numbness in my arm (same side) too.  So can you tell me what your spot (shoulder blade) ended up being?  How long did it take to clear up for you (the pain)?  Thanks again!

Actually mine was on the humerus.  In subsequent studies it resolved so maybe yours will as well.  Impingement of the nerve is a different matter.  That is harder to resolve and even more difficult to do on your own.  Here are two suggestions: 1) try a course of physical therapy; and 2) if that dosen't help ask a shoulder specialist for  a cortizone injection.  It may take a a few attempts to find the right area.  The cortizone helped me more so than physical therapy both you won't know until you try.  I believe most Doctor's will want to try PT first then shots.  My last injections was about two years ago.  The first one was about five year ago.  So you can see it can take time to resolve.  Never through be in a rush to try surgery - that is a very painful recovery I'm told.
