Depersonalization Disorder

by Puddler, Mar 11, 2008 02:20PM
I was diagnosed with Depersonalization Disorder when i was 17 after 12 years of seeing specialists. My fear right now is that this happened 10 years ago and I thought I was all better. Within the last year I have been experiencing the same symptoms I did when I was younger and they seem to be more extreme. My anxiety is skyrocketing, i am paranoid, confused, having blackouts and flashbacks of things that happened to me when I was younger and nightmares at night when I can sleep which I can only do with sleep medication or alcohol. What is the chance of, which I thought i was cured, this disorcer coming back. I am married and have three children and feel very afraid that my behavior will jeapordize all that I have.

It is time to revisit a therapist for issue resolving and perhaps medication for the anxiety, don't let it ruin your life.  Something is going on and you need help with it.  Alcohol is actually a stimulant although it helps you get to sleep.  What happens to some of us is we use that and pills to self medicate so we can avoid the discomfort of the feelings we have.  You need help getting it sorted out.

Many of us are being confronted with our pasts and our problems. This is a time of great emotional clearing. Try not to think of it in terms of reverting, because it may be that this is just something you need to experience so that you can better appreciate where you are in the now. I, myself, have had disturbing dreams and waking nightmares where I'm reliving a past trauma. I realize that those are old stuck energies that are needing to be cleared onces and for all so that I may be a better me than ever before. By allowing them to sweep me up in the very realness, I can place all of that negative emotional energy into that old memory and let it go back to wherever it came from. By trying to block or deny the experience you may be holding it within you. This is the clearing out of the old, though, so it will not allow you to push it away much longer because it can't stay. Struggling with the old energy is only making it harder for you to let go. Meditate as best you can, eat healthy fruits and veggies, channel your positive energy into creating the reality you desire. Bliss is within your grasp.

Love and Light,
Diemyn

Thank you so much for your input, I have come to the realization that i need to unblock these memories so i can move on with my life. I am hoping to see a highly recommended therapist here soon and hopefully that will help me through these trying times. I have also requested the court documents of things i said about my abuse and am hoping that reading them will help jog some memories. It is a good feeling to know i am not alone with how i feel and how i am trying to deal with what is ailing me. Thank you again and good luck with you and yours.
