I was diagnoised with bipolar and borderline personality disorder and prescribed litium. I didnt really focus to much on the borderline but today i looked it up. OMG i do have borderline personality disorder. I am so afraid to be alone. I either hate you or love you. I have never been not in a relationship. I ask alot from my boyfriend and i didnt see it. One minute i love him the next i want to kick his butt and then i love him again. I always think hes lying a cheating. I dont trust anyone. This is such a horrible feeling..I think everyone thinks bad about me. My boyfriend is trying his best to help me out and i think its juss to get me ok so he can dump me...I am such a mess..I want help..Does anyone know of like a retreat or somewhere i can go stay to i can get massive therapy...I also do impulsive things and im a spender when i dont have it..And i can keep going...

I am familiar with bpd from people I know or have known in person who have it. I've known from people here that in addition to medication and talk therapy that a form of behavioral therapy called dbt therapy is helpful as well though I am not personally familar with it but it does appear beneficial for people with bpd.

I can totally understand what you're going though. When my psychologist told me that I met most of the DSM criteria for BPD I was really surprised because I had never known anyone with this diagnoses before even though I'd been in a psychiatric hospital more than once. No retreats - only hospitalization and only your psychiatrist can recamend or admit you for that. Despite meds and talk therapy I still struggle w/ the disease, but it has lessened.

I'm 46 - I don't think age has anything to do with it other than it usually manifests itself in teens to early 20s,
