Stopping Medication

by Charz2009, Sep 18, 2009 05:10AM
Hello,
I live with a friend who had a metal disorder about 3 months back & was put on Chlorpromazine & benztropine. The course is for 6 months but he feels too overwhelmed by effects which he describes as not having control of himself. What effects are there if any if he stops taking the medication.

That is Thorazine with Cogentin a side effect pill. If a person stops medication the symptoms will return full blown. Its not a good idea. But Thorazine is the oldest known antipsychotic with a heavy side effect profile. Perhaps they could ask their psychiatrist to update it to something newer, more effective and with a better side effect profile.
