Want to be depakoteless.

by depakoteless, Feb 25, 2009 04:53PM
I've taken depakote with Nardil now for over six years. I am now trying to get off the depakote. I  did the step down process with the medication. How long will this take to leave my system?  The mg. is 250 tid.

As soon as it gets out of your system you will have a return in symptoms (I know, I did try that before my current recovery) so why not ask your psychiatrist about another medication. Don't make any more changes. If you can't tolerate Depakoate there are other options. Lamictal is a good one. If you've tried Lamictal then there are other options located on the links page in the bipolar forum. One good site about mood stabilizers in general is "Depression Central".
