Not always.  People with bpd can have problems with describing their emotions.  One of the treatments for bpd is dbt.  DBT has skills that can help people with bpd learn to describe and manage their emotions.  Most of the dbt skills can be found on the net.

My experience with emotional episodes has been that the emotions feel so extreme that I desperately try to avoid the feelings. Due to the avoidance, I can't analysis the emotions well enough to identify them.
