mirtazapine

I have BPD and was recently put on the anti depressant Mirtazapine (30mg). Since being put on it I have become very angry and even aggresive (aggressive). I have been losing my temper alot easier than I ever did before and today I was so angry I kicked a wall in my house with such aggresion (aggression) that it burst. I am frightened of what I could do when I lose control like this and even have thoughts of hitting people and smashing their windows when they hurt me.

Never in my life have I been like this. People always refer to me as being reserved, quiet and even timid.
usually in the past I have resorted to self harm although I have this under control now.

I know anger is a normal emotion that we all have in us but could the aggresion (aggression) be caused by the new drug?

If someone has moodswings that tend towards bipolar instead of just depression sometimes an anti-depressent can sometimes worsen mania which has anger or aggressive qualities in some people. Speak to your psychiatrist about this.
