what if you have historonic personality too... what kind of medicine is there for this that doesnt drug you out.??? along with psychotherapy of course...

I have been diagnosed with BPD and Histrionic personality too... Is there medication for these problems that what drug you up::??? I do see a psychotherapist though... but its not enough... HELP???

The two most useful medications for bpd are Lamictal and Abilify from my knowledge. I know that psychotherapy and sometimes behavioral therapy are needed as well and medication doesn't treat all aspects of it. Abilify is an antipsychotic and has the standard side effects of one but is the least likely to cause weight gain, although it can happen and has the long term side effects they all do. The antipsychotic I am on in Phase II FDA study glycine (for more information google "Dr. Javitt, glycine) which doesn't cause these long side effects and promotes a fuller recovery has only been studied on schizophrenia and schizoaffective but I would assume when this class of antipsychotics is approved (glutamate antagonists) they will be used other purposes as well. But I did find Lamictal quite tolerable and as both those psychiatric disabilities cause moodswings that is one that would be generally helpful. Personality disorders are just being to be understood by psychiatry as is treatment for them.

Both these personality disorders are in the same cluster.

Medication wise it would depend on the drug and the dosage.  Medication is used solely to help one manage symptoms of the disorder(s) and is not a cure.

Ask if you can increase the number of sessions with your therapist.
If your T isn't able to contain you and you feel you can't manage then you should be looking at other options.  For example, another T who is skilled and experienced in treating these PD's and is able to contain you.
