Brain Tumour Please help me

I am seeking some advice, I am worried out my mind here and its affecting my family.
Male 25
non smoker
hardly drink alchohal
in moderate good shape
no previous health problems

Okay it all started 4 weeks ago now. I had discomfort moving my left eye ball, i booked an eye test and started researching possible causes. I got totally freaked out it was MS, because I started to get twitching of my eye lids which I have never had before. I got a appointment to see my GP on Friday and he said he didn't think it was MS but would refer me to a neurologist  to put my mind at ease. After a couple of days the pain had gone but was replaced with a heavy eye feeling, I got an eye exam 3 days later and the optometrist said he was referring me an eye doctor because he found pressure behind my left eye. The pressure feeling lasted about a week and I cant notice any discomfort in my eyes at all, but I now have a tight-pressure feeling in the left side of my head. This has lasted for over a week now and I am now starting to feel sick, but if I eat something it soon goes away.
Also waking up it feels most worse.

It feels tight at the back left corner of my head, but its very mild and not to intrusive, infact if I am talking or outside I hardly notice it. I am just waiting on my appointments to come through but I'm scared its a tumor or something serious. I need to also mention I am not ruling out anything psychological, I might be depressed and imagining this but i doubt it.

Please help me I am most interested to know if these symptoms are related, I had a complete breakdown at work because I was fearing MS, and its putting a strain on my partner

If the eye doc had referred you to a neurologist instead of another eye doc... as the problem, just as you are writing it sounds like eye, and not the optic nerve and it would be a nerve issue that sometimes gives the doctor an indication that something is going on in the brain.

Twitching and all happens all the time to everyone - so unless there are other symptoms to support a diagnosis, that alone should not make you worry. The eye issue can be infection, sinus issues, eye issues - separate from a neurological issue so it is good to see an eye doctor.

It is difficult when one is worried and you look up symptoms and think the worst - but you do, please, have to consider that you have to let the doctor run tests, get a history etc. and the odds are in the favor of health. Brain tumors are pretty rare.

Thanks, I heard today I am on the urgent list to see a neurologist so one way or another I will know for sure. It was strange because today I woke up and felt instantly sick, that lasted for a few hours tops and was replaced by a horrible head ache.

The reason I'm so freaked out is  just do not get sick, or have headaches, or have ever had any problems with my eyes, so its hard for me to comprehend that their is a sudden change in me.

An MRI with contrast will help answer questions. I received my MRI with/without contrast to rule out MS, as I was having significant eye problems (optic neuritis). Instead of MS lesions, they found meningiomas, a type of brain tumor. My neuro-opthamologist helped me with the entire process and referred me to a neurosurgeon once we had the MRI report. I did see a regulr neurologist briefly, but he only did basic neurological functioning tests. Because I was pregnant at the time, I couldn't receive contrast, so there wasn't much he could do to help me in diagnosing me.

I had eye twitching develop, in addition to my other symptoms, as I was waiting surgery. Both my neurosurgeon and opthamalogist assured me that eye twitching is usually due to anxiety and not the underlying disease.

The entire process and waiting game is torture. I encourage you to press for an MRI just to get some answers and peace of mind. It really could be something as simple as an infection, sinus problem, etc... Even with my scenario, which was far from ideal, the outcome has been good- much better than I anticipated. I had brain surgery a few days ago, they spared my vision, and removed most of the tumor. The prognosis is good. because they found it early on.

my initial symptoms presented a year and a half before my diagnosis. The presenting symptoms were optic neuritis, which it turns out was due to damage to the optic nerve from compression done by the tumor. Those symptoms actually improved significantly after delivery, which is why I took so long to follow up with an MRI with contrast. They didn't really expect to find anything with the MRI this Feb- we were thinking we were just being thorough before deciding to have another child. I even had an appointnment set up with an ENT, because we thought that was a more likely cause of my problems. It is very possible that what you describe is an ENT issue.

Damage done to the optic nerve is often permanent, although it can improve. I would pursue this for peace of mind. My tumor continued to grow for 1.5 years, without significant changes to my vision in that time period, The impacts depend on the cause, the location, etc...

The optometrist said my optic nerve was fine though he did say their was pressure.

I don't know how you cope with all while being pregnant. Well you have put my mind at ease with the speed of growth

Have you seen a neuro-opthamalogist?  Or did the regular one at least request an MRI?

I live in UK and the waiting lists on the NHS are bad so I dunno how long I have to wait.
