Could this be a brain tumor? Weight lifting headache... Help

Hi all I hope you can help me with this,

I am a 19 year old guy, i'm in great shape and I feel good but recently starting about a week ago I get a mild to moderate headache every time I exercise by lifting weights. Usually I would think nothing of it but for some reason i'm worried that this could be something else.

I'd describe my headache like this:

1. Throbbing pain above the left eye.
2. Its always in the same place, above my left eye in the forehead area sometimes reaching a little above the forehead.
3. Comes on suddenly while lifting weights, usually comes on within 5 - 10 seconds where 10 seconds its the worst it will get.
4. After the headache has been triggered by lifting weights it doesn't get any worse but lingers for about an hour to three hours where it gradually gets better up to the third hour where it is practically gone.

The pain is not bad enough to make me stop exercising but being the slight hypochondriac I am I can't seem to help but go straight to thinking its a brain aneurism or a brain tumor. It just worries me that it is triggered by weight lifting and that it comes on kinda suddenly, i've never really noticed a headache like that before, then again I haven't really been exercising this intense in awhile.

I have no other neurological symptoms and I feel fine other then this headache, what could it be? Does this kind of headache i'm experiencing sound serious? Should I talk to my doctor? I've even had an MRI of the brain done about a year ago for another reason so I kinda feel silly for worrying about this but I worry anyway... :(

Thank you for reading this :)

Thank you for your response,

That eases my mind a bit, i'll go ahead and go to the doctor if it continues to occur every time I work out just to be on the safe side.

Thanks again. :)

Since it comes on when you are lifting weights - the most likely guess is that it is muscular or a migraine.

Of course you should go see a doctor. That is the only way a proper history and exam can be taken. The odds of it being something serious is low - but you should still go so you can learn the cause and if possible, what can be done to avoid it.

Usually one-sided headaches are migraine - still, get it checked.
