Craniotomy

I had my surgery last Wednesday - so this is all pretty new.  I have been experiencing a lot of emotional disturbance.  I have suffered from anxiety and depression before but this feels different.  Anything can set me off.

I would like to know how others have dealt with the emotional aspects of major brain surgery.

Are you on medication post op - such as a large amounts of steroids to keep the inflammation down? In that case, it would be the corticosteroids that are causing the emotional issues and anxiety and when you get off those medications, you will feel better. Are you on dexamethasone?

It also could be where the tumor was - but it is hard to say as you gave no detail on type or location but certainly I would ask your doctor about this and see what he/she says.
