If you have tests that show elevated prolactin and all other causes have been ruled out... It is valid. Tumor scan been tiny and not show up.
If you are concerned please see a pituitary center. It is a good idea for ongoing care anyway.
i hope you are feeling better.
thanks for getting back to me.... i had a lot of levels checked before, and more last week. And i'm sure more next time. I met with the physicians assistant, I asked her what the next course of action will be...pretty much what she told me is that they're going to start me on cabergoline shortly, under the assumption that i in fact do have a tumor and it just didn't show up on the mri. i'm trying to wrap my head around this, but it just doesn't sound right to me.
Sorry for delay. I got sick.
Being pulled out meant it was dynamic. The lactation etc. can be caused by so many things including meds and thyroid.
Get copies of what you had - if you had just TSH and T4, find another endo and get another opinion. Your thyroid was not even properly tested.
i think both of you are fine. dont waste money on drs if you dont have to!
hey. I don't know if it was dynamic, I know it was with and without contrast. I went in for about 20 mins, then was pulled out for the injection of whatever substance for the contrast and went back in for an additional 15 mins. I just feel like if I had any serious health problems that I would know for sure something was wrong with my body. I'm just stressed and maybe that's giving me spaced out periods and "idiopathic" (I think that's the term for it) galactorrhea. I do know that my prolactin levels have all been normal the 3 times checked. ...I wonder, if i were to stop regular use of marijuana, if my galactorrhea would go away and my periods would be normal. I plan to put that stuff on hold for a couple solid months and see if anything changes. Maybe starting birth control too. What do you think? Is it likely that cannabis is giving me these two small symptoms? Are they big symptoms and indicative of a real problem? Would it be wise of me to continue seeing an endocrinologist for different tests, or should I look for doctors in other fields of study? Should I just stop worrying?
Sounds normal. Was it a dynamic pituitary MRI?
