Meningioma Removed - "Seizures" continue...

I had a Meningioma removed May 2015. How I realised there was something wrong, was that I started having seizures ( at the age of 40) which obviously got progressively worse as the tumour grew. The tumour is completely gone now and was benign.
My question however is more revolving around the seizures.
Before I seized my warning sign would be that my left arm would start seizing and jumping. It was most painful. The only way to describe it is that it felt like really bad pins and needles starting in my fingers and moving up my arm until I couldn't feel my arm anymore. While still awake I would end up slapping myself in the face and not be able to feel it or control it. Then I would completely seize.
After I had the tumour removed the Brain surgeon said I should carry on taking the anticonvulsive tablets which I have been doing religiously. (tegretol)
Since the tumour was removed, I get the pins and needles in my left hand when I ovulate and just before my period - up to 5 times a day - but only one day while ovulating and one day just before I start my period. I get this shock first in my heart / chest area and then my hand goes. It only lasts maybe the longest 3 minutes. I can only assume that my hormone are causing this. I DO NOT want or need a hysterectomy.
I must be honest; this seems to have completely flummoxed the Brain surgeons.

Do you think that if I have the Mirena IUD inserted it will stop these "episodes?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Oh wow...  First my sympathies. Second, an iud is not going to stop your periods at all. You would need another form and having experienced the depo-provera thing, that can mess your body up like crazy. You can ask to do the birth control bill with no break? Provided that is okay with your neuro?
