Meningiomas & Craniotomies

by KP33596, Nov 03, 2008 07:10PM
A family member just had a 4th craniotomy in about 10 years to have multiple meningiomas removed.   Are there any potential long-term effects from having multiple brain surgeries?  How many such operations would be feasible before a patient would no longer be considered a candidate for additional surgeries?

Hi, I am sorry to hear of your family members diagnosis. I do not have experience in this area. My grandfather did have a meningioma but he decided against surgery. You might in addition to this forum also consider posting on both the Brain tumor forum and the Neurology forum, this will give you more opportunities for answers and you may get a response from a doctor.

All the best.
