brain cyst

Hi i wonder if you could give me some advice on what i should do. About 5 years back i had an mir scan and it showed a left paracentral arachnoid cyst of CSF intensity on all sequences measuring 22.4 x 26.3 x 34.9 mm located posterior to the cerebellum with a small left lateral extention over the left cerebellar convexity. Axial and sagittal sections through the vertex level likewise reeveal a small 19.1 x 17.9 x 14.6 extra axial fluid lesion over the left superior fronto parietral parasagittal convexity region with subsequent depression of underlying cortex. now im suffering from dizzyness, memory problems and confusion, slow thought processing  could this be due to the cyst as many people say that im showing signs of depression.i have had another mir scan but my G.P has said it dose not give the dimensions. i just dont know what to do. thankyou for your time and hope for your reply

The expert forum is here:

I think if you find the right doctor, they will remove the cyst. The proper way to treat that type is not to drain (it will re-fill) but to remove some or all of the outer layer so it will be cured.

There are some good sites just devoted only to those cysts.

Thanks for the well wishes! It is a new thing - very frustrating.

Hi thanks for your post yes i have researched arachnoid cyst but nothing is concrete i have made an appointment to see a nerologist. A journal is an excellent idear as i forget my symptoms form time to time. I have my second MIR on a C.D and my previous mir was done abroud which cost less and was much more detailed. can i ask where i can fid the expert forum. thanks again for your advice and good luck with your family tree :)

Have you researched an arachnoid cyst or talked to the doctor and understand the nature of them? That you likely have had it for a long time - and that sometimes leads to inertia on the part of the doctors. However, you are having symptoms. It may take that you will you have journal what is happening to you daily to get the docs to act.

Did you get a copy of the second report? Did you see a neurologist? I would go see a neurologist and see that doctor. Get an opinion. I find it strange the second scan did not measure your lesions.

There is also an expert forum and you can also consult the doctor as well
