brain injury or not

For those who underwent surgery for meningioma removal, I am curious to know if you are a member of the brain injury association. I also would like to know if you consider your under the umbrella of brain injury??

This forum is what I meant by "like us".

As for particular organizations, there are some that meet in person, some that are are online, like us.
Our forum rules forbid me from listing any other forums.

Thank you for the compliment. I do try.

I hope you realize what a tremendous help you are. I have read some of your responses and see you put time into providing information that is helpful.

I asked the question because a family member who underwent surgery to remaove a meningioma is involved in the Brain Injury Assoiation. With a backgrond in the medical field, I have been feeling this association may not be the best in this particular instance.
You indicated associations for those with tumors "like us". Can u give a reference to a particular organization that I can become involve with.

again your time and concern is appreciated.

I looked at the US brain injury association, and according to their site, they cover traumatic brain injury and the sources break down as follows:
"What causes TBI?

The leading causes of TBI are:

    * Falls (28%);
    * Motor vehicle-traffic crashes (20%);
    * Struck by/against (19%); and
    * Assaults (11%)."

So I would think they cover injuries. There are other associations for those with tumors - like us.
