dizzy and passing out

dizzy and passing out

i have been dizzy for a couple days now. i wake up dizzy and stay dizzy all day. the only thing that makes my dizziness worse is to close my eyes. i stay dizzy and standing, sitting or laying it stays the same. the room isent spinning and if i close my eyes i do sway to the left . i have a headache and feel sick to my stomach . i woke up friday dizzy and i was dizzy all day and i passed out. my son was home and he said i asked for help and hit the floor. i was out for about a min and when i came to i could hear and see him but couldent respond to him.this is starting to worry me . just reminder about me i had a 22mm pit tumor removed by crainotomy in 06. i have been diagnosed with chronic daily migraines/ icepick migraines/ cluster migraines. i take dilantin for grandmal seizures and gabapentin for migraines and a imatrex shot for clusters. i have been on these meds for over 6mnts. any ideas on why im starting to stay dizzy and passing out? please help im getting worried !! my blood pressure is allways been normal and very good.

Could you be low in sodium? If your body is losing sodium at a faster rate it can cause extreme dizziness. Also, remember that many medications cause us to lose excessive amounts of minerals and vitamins, for instance - Dilantin can cause significant loss of calcium, folic acid, and vitamins B12, C, D, and k.
Are you supplementing with anything to counter this? Maybe it's time for another blood test -  electrolytes, CBC, cortisol, etc.  Maybe low aldosterone? Are you well hydrated?

Had another thought. Could you be having flu symptoms?

I would call a doctor. Get checked for SIADH.

Syndrome of Inappropriate Anti-Diuretic Hormone secretion - SIADH.  It can cause weight gain and mess with your electrolyte balance.
If you're not feeling better today, see a doctor.

is that di ? after my sugery i was diagnosed with di and my endo said it had cleared up on its own and that was normal to do so . i cant rember what i took for it but it was a nose spray and i could only urinate once a day. i do have some weight gain and my cheeks stay a red color. i was told my hypolamus was damanged from the size of my tumor . i have given up on my neuro/endo he tells me all my hormones are low-normal and i dont need any meds. im confused because no doctors have really treated my tumor / bloodwork was important. i havent really been treated or tested the way i have read some on here has. my testing is seeing the endo and going to lab having blood draw at anytime of day and i wait 6mnts to hear results. i have called and i get told your fine then my app get cancled. i have tryed to get new endo and my old one gets called and i get told to see my endo. i know i need to take charge of my health and i have asked for 2nd oppinion but its a university hosp and they stick together.

SIADH has to do with salt balance and is different than DI. It comes from your body not handling sodium and potassium correctly and you can get very sick.

Please see a doctor, any doctor.

i went to the er saturday night after having a very bad seizure. it was the worst one yet , it took me longer to get over it and know where i was. when i came to i was so sick and in pain i was scared. while i was in the er my heart rate was low and my bloodpressure was 70/50.the er doctor told me my potassium was low. i was told to eat a banana a day . i have tryed to get app with a doc but the swine flu is so bad here i cant get in. i had a iv and now my arm is swelled and my vein feels hard.i was dx with di after my crainotomy but my endo said it had cleared up . how serious is this ?

Did the endo run tests lately - you may need more tests. You may need more that just a banana as well.

Are you still drinking and going like after surgery - it can recur.  If the arm is bad - get someone to take you back to the ER.

I have a thought..low potassium might be a clue that something might be going on with your adrenal glands, aldosterone maybe?
You might bring this up with your doctor as it can be tested for.
