how to stop cabergoline treatment

I began treatment prolactinoma 13mm since 1/4/2009 with dostinex first month tow tab evrey week,second month 4 tab evrey week,prolactin down from 1080 ng to 1,5ng.MRI after 3 mo reveal a tumor size 18mm 40% blood.

One does not usually stop treatment unless one has surgery.

If you stop the medications that suppress the prolactin, then the symptoms can come back and the tumor will grow. But in your case, which I am not clear on, it sounds like you need to consider a different medication or different treatment.

thank y my hormones tests all are normal,I do not have apoplexy ,no vision disturbance.no any other symtom

It usually happens that if you go off the meds, symptoms will come back or the tumor will grow.

Your tumor has gone from 13 mm to 18mm so it has grown - that is a call for a different med, or surgery. It may not be a prolactinoma if it not responding to the meds. I had elevated prolactin, but the tumor that was seen, ended up being Cushing's disease. My tests were normal too - but not all the time- you need too get a lot more testing.
