increased free T4 level

My 14 year daughter has been complaining of chest pain , anxiety and fluctauting mood. blood results revealed increased free t4 levels , her doctor suspects cushing's syndrome and is asked for more tests including thyroid scan. Could you please explain the reasons of increased T4 level and the treatment

Cushing's does interfere with the thyroid but I have to ask - why is the doctor not testing cortisol in all forms - blood urine and saliva, as well as the pituitary hormones, and all the hormones, just T4?

A thyroid scan is not testing for Cushing's. It is testing for thyroid. I had both thyroid issues - lots of them - and Cushing's disease.

She needs testing on different hormones - cortisol, ACTH being paramount. They would want to look at her pituitary and her adrenals, not her thyroid.
