pituitary surgery postop instructions

Hello - I have had a pituitary tumor removed 8 days ago. Today I forgot and drank with a straw only two sips of lemonade.When I realized it, i threw the straw, but got a horrible headache. a few hours later a clear fluid came from my left nostril. It is no longer coming. I have a funny taste in the back of my throat, but I had this before and I was told it was the packing they left behind and that was resolving. i am really worried. Do you think I have caused a CSF leak?

Please contact your doctor immediately just to be sure.

If you feel better laying flat and after caffeine, you may have given yourself a leak... Those pesky post-op instructions can get ya!
