wierd results to thyroid test

Hi - 10 months ago i had a baby girl (healthy) after pregnancy i found it difficult to loose weight - despite dieting i became quite depressed - i was a size 12 after the birth went to a 10 now go between 10 and 12- but used to be an easy 8.  I went to my doctor who said he thinks it is a matter of time and patience and diet and excercise.  Eventually he agreed to test my thyroid.  He was suprised by the result as it was high t4 and high antibodies - which he suggested are attacking my thyroid and normalish tsh 0.3.  He said my symptoms are not really suggesting over or under - he felt my throat asking me to swallow and said he could not feel anthing.  I have been very tired with headaches - but then again the baby does not always sleep well.  Then there is my frustration with weight after birth but i guess i have only started to diet really seriously recently and am loosing some weight.  My hair is a little finer and drier maybe.  I am confused -why if my t4 is high don't have more symptoms and would my tsh go below 0.3?

Hi Thyroid can be a bit unstable after having a baby.

Your test results currently look ok, other than the antibodies.  This could settle down or you could become hypo or hyper... Reckon your doctor should be checking on levels every 3 months to see what's happening over time....

(I'm laughing because my eyes are blurry, and I can't tell how many l's are in your username)!
I am not familiar with all of the thyroid tests, but TSH is released from the pituitary only as it is needed by the  thyroid, assuming proper functioning of the gland. If t4 is high, then TSH would be low.

I don't see anything particularly unusual with your symptoms. Could you give me any more info?
