would it help in case of GBM reccurance?

would it help in case of GBM reccurance?

my friend has GBM about 2years ago,she took an operation to remove it,chemotherapy and radiotherapy........after all she showed allergy toward chemotherapy,so the doctor decided to stop treatment, and ask her to wait for her destiny!!!
that was about A YEAR ago and thanks god she still alive.....but she is having a total wealness in her left hand and leg and this was even when she was taking chemotherapy which was suggesting reccurance of the disease......
a physiotherapist told her that she must have physiotharpy sessions for her hand and leg inorder to reactivate their movement since she stopped using them.......she started having these sessions and there were an improvement in their movement and dissappearance in their edematous swelling
the problem is that she feels lots of pain while she is having these sessions and after doing them she has some kind of bruises.....my question is that:does these sessions give her any benefits ??
or they will affect her situation and provoke her tumor so her condition would become worse??
please let me know....i want to help her as much as i can.....

What a doctor...

I hope she has changed to another. Weakness can be from the past chemo and radiotherapy.

The swelling comes sometimes from swollen lymph nodes - it happens. Inactivity would also make the arms and legs swell (well honestly you don't know which one comes first) and it is very painful - but I would look at the lymph system. It is painful as there is a lot of fluid there but moving the fluid back to where it needs to be and be it takes a lot of work.

I have not read or heard anything where massaging the lymph system or having physiotherapy will re-activate a tumor. They sadly have their own ways.

thanx for the reply
but the swelling am talking about only in her left hand and leg no where else,so i think it is supposed to be caused by their immobility
my question is that does she have to tolerate pain when she has physiotherapy for her leg and pain inorder to reactivate these immobile organs,i would like to mention that the pain she feels is getting less each time, but also she feels so so tired after finishing the session
(her pain comes from pressing her immobile organs not from swellling)

If she does not get the fluid out of the extremities, then they will only become more painful in the long run. So the physiotherapy is worth it.

To allow the limb to remain swollen would mean that in the long run that she would be more subject to infection and hardening in the limb.
