astrocytoma grade 3 or 4

What is the best treatment for this, my fatherin-law just had the cancerous tumaor taken out but left with all the fingers on the tumor still in his brain, we are waiting for the biopsy to come back and distiguish the stage it is in , i have been reading and dioing research on the net and the 2 chemotherapy's that seem to be the most effective on others are Tremador and High Dose Methotrexate can you tell me if there are any statistic an these 2 chemo's and what the longevity of the patients life's with these treatments. Can this type of cancer be treated with alternative Medicine.
