opions on right frontal lobe removal for seizure controll

by krissy1970, Oct 30, 2009 01:38AM
My husband has had seizures since early childhood . Now he take Tegratol, felbotol, zonagram. and keppra an long with a VNS implant ( still has 5-20 tonic colonic seizures weekly), we just did a video eeg , the surgen suggestion is to remove the right frontal lobe ( except for the portion that  contro;s movement of the left arm and leg) He says it should not be any big recovery and little life adjustment- can this really be true? My husband is  all for it live or die just get rid of the seizures , but I would like to get more info on the after care and quality of life ect following what seems to me as an abrassive surgery.
