small cyst found

I have been in to see my neurologist as I have been having non stop headaches for about 6 months.  The headaches have recently eased up but I am having other symptoms such as twitching, diarhea (diarrhea) in the morning, numbness in my left hand and such.  The nurse practioner saw me today and told me that my headaches are caused by tension and the numbness in my hand is from carpel tunnel, however she also said the MRI i recently did showed a small cyst in the sinuses located closely to the putuirity gland.  I have an appointment with the neurologist in three months which is the earliest they could get me in but until then I need some sort of peace of mind.  Is this a brain tumor?  If so, what does it mean?  Do I have to have surgery, radiation, chemotherapy??  I do not understand anything the nurse practioner told me and I am overly anxious to see the neurologist for further questions....please offer any advice.

It is very difficult to know what you have based on the description you provided.  There are many sinuses near the pituitary.  Do you know if the lesion is in the cavernous sinus or sphenoid sinus?
