Alternative and/or Complementary treatments?

by Nigel1965, Feb 14, 2008 06:59AM
I was wondering what research, if any, is taking place re alternative/complimentary treatments.  I note that there are adverts around this MedHelp site suggesting "other" solutions and wondered to what extent MedHelp recognised these treatments.

I've heard of a number of treatments which appear to have some merit even if not effective against cancer.  E.g. certain plants detox the liver etc,  ph levels - raise alkalinity of body,  etc etc

Are there any scientifically proven complementary treatments or useful sources of information?

What about instance whereby complimentary treatments have worked but the reason why is still not understood?

Regards

Nigel
