CEA markers

I have just started a regiment of xeloda and finished my first two week cycle.  When I had my CEA level tested the results were double!  I was wondering if anyone has had a spike in their CEA level when initiall starting Xeloda.

This test is usually done before and AFTER treatment to assess the value of the treatment. Anything between shouldn't be a cause for alarm as these values may decrease AFTER treatment has been completed and then is used to assess the amount of CEA reactive cells that have been killed by the treatment.  Regards ....
