Survival and reoccurrence rate

Survival and reoccurrence rate

I am 55 years old post menopausal woman, with two invasive tumors in my left breast

Tumor 1, Histologic grade I/III (well developed tubules), nuclear grade II/III (moderate variation in size and shape) measuring 0.8 cm.

Tumor 2, Histologic grade II/III (well-developed tubules), nuclear grade II/III (moderate variation in size and shape) measuring 1.0 cm.

DCIS also identified, intermediate nuclear grade and focal moderate necrosis. Lobular involvement by DCS was present.

No vascular invasion is noted, the attached skeletal muscle is negative for tumor.

2 of 2 sentinel nodes were positive. The largest metastatic focus measured 0.7cm. 2 of 14 auxiliary level I and II lymph node were positive also. The largest metastatic focus measured 0.4 cm. The node were not matted or clumped together.

There is no extranodal extension of carcinoma.

The tumors were estrogen positive, HER2 negative.

I had a mastectomy and will have eight rounds of chemo, then reconstructive surrey followed by 30 treatments radiation and estrogen suppression therapy.

I am very concern about survival and can not seem to get an answer.

What are my chances of survival?

What are my chances of reoccurrence?

This is a question that is almost impossible to answer. Each case is different due to the fact that each cancer responds differently to the treatment. It's no surprise that you can't get an answer ...... I don't think there is one especially at this point. Perhaps after or during your treatment your Oncologist might be willing to venture a guess after seeing how the cancer responds to treatment. Some testing may be done to help wth this estimate.  Regards ....
