Tumor Markers

by billy007, Nov 11, 2009 03:38PM
My wifes markers stayed stable during chemo ( around 35 whatever that is ), after finishing chemo a spot on her hip was still thick, so they decided to use radiation on that spot. Now that radiation is done the markers raised to about 60 is that common?

Tumor markers can rise and fall for various reasons and are not the "be all, end all" in reliability for tracking tumor growth. Your Wife's Oncologist is the best person to explain the rise in her particular situation.
