What would be your recommendation for combo of chemo drugs

by fraoch1970, Oct 09, 2008 09:17AM
I have a 3 centimeter invasive ductal carcinoma in left breast. ER+PR+ HER2- with at least two axillary nodes involved as well as one lymph node lit up on PET scan near collarbone and sternum.  Drs are recommending chemo, then surgery, then radiation.  Would like to know what chemo combo you would recommend for my treatment.  I am 38 yrs old pre menopausal and do not want to have any more children.

Hi.
How are you doing?
There are many combination chemotherapy regimens available for breast cancer.  You can be given any anthracycline containing regimen and/or taxane containing regimen.  These regimens have been shown to greatly benefit patients with breast cancer in terms of overall survival.  Trastuzumab therapy, which is a form of targeted therapy, may not work on you since you have a Her2Neu negative status.
You should discuss with your oncologist your treatment options and weigh the risks and benefits of treatment.
Good luck.
