Why does hormone therapy fail?

Why does, after two years of  hormone therapy with arimidex, treatment fail, although there are still 100% estrogen receptors and 10% progesteron receptors present? What is the best follow-up treatment after invasion of several organs like liver and lung?

I am not certain my response will be helpful to you, but I also didn't want to leave your post 'unresponded to', or for you to feel unheard.

Perhaps you will also get a much better answer. So, here is just one thought, although I do not know the answer to your question.

My oncologist told me that hormone treatment does not always prevent the disease, or cancer, from coming back, but rather, that it helps delay the cancer's recurrence.

not happen for 6 years when without the drug, it may have happened after four years.

I am very sorry this happened to you, Kat
