bone cancer

by janet1313, May 09, 2009 11:33PM
I had gotten results from pet scan and showed that radiologist showed concern in my spine and ribcage.Last April I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and went thtough chemo, double mastectomy and radiation. The dr has me scheduled for a bone scan. Is it possible that the cancer has spread to the spine/ribcage or bones.Thank you
Janet

Hi Janet, Yes, it is possible but keep in mind that if this is true metastises to bone is the easiest type of mets. to control.  PET scans are also know for showing false positives in many cases. The Bone scan will clarify the situation I'm sure. Keep us up to date with your results, OK ??  Kindest regards .....
