ovarian suppression

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer metastases to a number of bones and to the chest wall.  I am 44 years old and still getting my period.  My oncologist put me on Lupron (I have only had one shot so far) and Aromasin.  Unfortunately, I just got my period, right on time!  I am concerned as to why the lupron might not have worked and I am wondering if the Aromasin that I have been taking (for 3 weeks) could now be adversely affecting me.  Do you recommend a hysterectomy in my case.  Why would the lupron not work?  Thank you so much.

The drugs would need some time to work; the effect would not be immediate.  A hysterectomy would be of no value .... it's the ovaries that produce the hormones so oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries) would be the surgical  procedure to stop the production of hormones.     Regards ...
