question about a hypo-echoeic lesion

question about a hypo-echoeic lesion

Hi everyone..
Yesterday I was offered a biopsy for a suposed hypo-echoeic lesion.  Im am terified of having a needle put into such a sensitive place in the right side of my right breast.
I have a low blood clotting which was 60 when last tested, they think i was suffering from a female form of heamophillia when younger.  50 is the border line for normal, so im just over and if they stuck a needle into my breast tissue i know i will be badly brusied.
Anyway now that i have told them this they are gonna get the heamotololgy dept to look at me.
Today I requested an MRI scan to be done, had to phone up the hospital and speak to my consultants secretary...
Hes not availble all this week.
Next week hes doing operations.
He hasnt seen my mamogram (mammogram) results yet either.
Or anything else for that matter.
Meanwhile im left to worry.....
Yesterday i was in a right state!
So it would be nice to correspond with people in this forum.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Regards to you all.

A hypoechoic lesion means that its density is less than the surrounding normal breast tissue which is said to be isoechoic on ultrasound. Further investigations like a biopsy would be required for a confirmed diagnosis.

Let us know what the specialist advises and if you have any doubts.

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hi,

A hypoechoic lesion is a finding on ultrasound studies that refers to any structure which bounces back sound waves poorly, so that the image generated appears dark on the monitor screen. Structures which have less density, and contain more water, air or fat may appear as hypoechoic.

Well the fact is that a hypoecoic lesion could be either a cyst or a beign tumour or a malignant tumour.

A biopsy is a very safe procedure and your specialist will not do it , if it holds any safety concern for you. You could discuss the procedure withyour doctor in detail and clear out any doubts that you are having.
