cluster microcification

i have microcalcification in my left breast round and punctuate microcalcification with areas of clustering the doctor give me the bi-rads 4b please help i have nodule too 3 in my right breast n 1 in my left breast but it was benign im so scared right now i have 2 kids 9 and 5 n a sigle mom im so afraid im just 35 y. o.

Hi,
Microcalcifications are small calcium deposits found within the breast tissue. There are different types of microcalcifications, and based on their pattern on the mammogram it gives the radiologist clues as to their cause. For instance microcalcifications that are more scattered are probably due to a benign (non-cancerous) cause, a cluster of microcalcifications may increase concern that there may be an underlying problem. A BIRAD category 4, means that there is a suspicion and nothing more than that. MOST category 4 abnormalities are benign, but the only way to make sure is to have a biopsy.Please don't over worry yourself,I've known a lot of people with your same condition that had a favorable outcome.I wish you well and God Bless.

Hi,  I had a similar situation a few weeks ago.  I was terrified.  I went straight from mammogram to breast surgeon to biopsy.  My calcifications were very suspicious as well and from the tone of the radiologist and surgeon, I was sure I had cancer.  My biopsy came back benign as many do.  Try not to worry----  but I know you will.  I felt good in the end that my doctors were very thorough and concerned because finding it and treating it is really what is all about, right?  So your doctors are taking very good care of you and the statistics on your side.  While waiting, do someting nice for yourself.  Good luck.
