0.7 cm tumor/nipple bleeding

My mom had nipple bleeding in one breast, to rule out a papilloma they did a needle biopsy - today they called and said it was malignent - the tumor is small (0.7).  All she could remember from the phone call was that it was "something with the ducts"....she is trying to get an appoitment next week, but for now, we wait. My sister-in-law was told by a friend at work that bleeding from the nipple was a sign of advanced cancer - so now we are all freaking out....

Your mom may have intraductal cancer which is very common. Bleeding is a common sign of breast cancer but may not mean the worst. You need to go with your mom to the doctor and write down what he says and recommends. He probably will send her to a surgeon to remove the tumor and check her lymph nodes and then to an oncologist.  I went through this 13 years ago and I am still cancer free.  Always try to stay positive there are great treatments today. I will keep you in my thoughts.
