As previously stated; breast cancer in someone your age would be very rare indeed. I want to congratulate you for talking to your Mom about this and also her for making an appointment with the Dr. I know you will get some good answers then and while you are there you might ask for instruction in self breast exam. Most offices and hospitals have cards that you can hang in the shower with instructions in self exam. I think you should stop worrying now and tell your Mom not to worry so much either. Best Wishes
I can understand yur fear, for sure! I would be scared too, but as said above, at your age that would be very rare. It could be a lot of things, but surely needs checked out. Let us know what the doctor says, ok? My prayers are with you
Dear meg, it is almost unheard off for a 17 year old to get breast cancer. Also, about your nipples. if you had cancer, it would most likely be only in one breast that these changes are happening. I am sorry you are so scared and I understand, but it could be many other things that is causing your symptoms. are you on any medications ? if you are look them up and check if it says anything about possible breast changes. I hope others here will respond to you here as well. I am glad you are going to the doctor so you can get a straight answer from him/her. In the meantime, try to relax. I also understand your worry about bc running in your family, and it does put you at higher risk for the future, but half of all women who get bc have no family history of it whatsoever. Take care, kat
