18 yr old. Right areola discoloration with skin tag

I'm an 18 year old female that is not sexually active. Recently I noticed that my right breast's areola is slightly darker than the left. I don't remember this difference although I can't ascertain it wasn't already there. The left areola is more pink while the right is more brown - they both appear around the same size. It's rather uniform in color. I also have some sort of skin tag looking thing on the right nipple and I'm not sure if this is related. Is this normal? It's not an extreme difference. The right nipple will occasionally itch, so I initially thought I was irritating the area in some manner, causing the tag thing and the color change, but it hasn't done that for a while and the difference is still evident. I've been having some other health problems lately that I believe are stress related, so I'm sort of tired of planting myself in the doctor's office and would rather save myself the trip if it appears unnecessary.

Hello,In my opinion you can never be too cautious,when you find an abnormality on or in the breast, to have it checked out by your physician.At your young age I doubt that this could be cancer,nevertheless one can never know for sure what this abnormality is unless a medical professional examines it.I would urge you to make the appointment for a consultation the sooner the better.Best wishes.
