2nd Breast cancer

I had a Mastectomy in 05 and now have DCIS in the other breast.
Not mad about losing the last one but having only had Chemo and not Radiation before, is a lumpectomy sensible from a) medical and b) psychological point of view ?

That would depend on the area of susupicion and the Surgeon's recommendation. As far as the psychological part .. that depends on how you feel about it; I have always thought that having neither breast would be easier to deal with than having only one. That's a personal thing of course. Clean margins would need to be obtained with Lumpectomy and the amount of tissue removed may well enter into the decision.    Regards .....
