36 year old found 3 lumps on inner breast, which no longer hurt but want to know what I'm up against

I'm 36 years old and found a lump on my chest over a month ago on the inner side of my chest, which made my breast feel very tender.

After visiting my doctor and having a scan, I was told there are 3 little lumps and all on top of each other, again, on the inner side breast. I was advised to wait until my next time of the month to see how it feels or if it disappears completely but if the lumps remains, the pain should still be there.

Unfortunately, the pain has gone, which I would of assumed was a positive sign if I hadn't visited a doctor but now I'm extremely scared of what could happen, please advise what this could be, as I want to know what I'm up against in every form.

Thank you

Hi, I guess that if your doctor, after viewing the films, suggested that you wait till next month, then it couldn't have been something that bad.The lumps you have could be cysts or Fibroadenoma( Benign conditions) and they can be quite painful around the time of your menstrual cycle because of hormonal changes in the body, the pain lessens after your cycle is finished.I am afraid that I really can't tell you much about these lumps and if you are too much worried about them, then you should ask your doctor or a breast specialist, to have more tests done like an Ultrasound , MRI. and if need be, a biopsy.I hope that everything will turn up alright for you.Best wishes.

Please help, this is actually about my girlfriend and she's really stressed out, to the point where she broke up with me a few hours ago. :-(
