3rd Mammogram in 1 week?

Hi,after I thought ( not the Doctor) i felt something different in one of my breasts I had a mammogram taken right away. The same day I had to go back to come in for a second more thourogh mammogram plus ultrasound. Now, they want me to come in again after one week, because they see a little difference between the 2nd mammogr. and the last years.
I am upset, that they need 3 Mammograms to detect something.....It's my body and much radiation...what else can I do? Do you have any alternative suggestions? Thank you.
Can I do something to free my body from the radiation it has been exposed to?

No doubt the first Mammogram was a "screening" Mammogram and the second a more comprehensive test with additional views which is not unusual; nor is the addition of an Ultrasound since each of these tests tend to "see" things differently. The radiation exposure is very slight and shouldn't keep us from having appropriate testing. You may also have a Breast MRI if a determination can't be made after the next Mammogram. No, there is not anything you can do to reverse the amount of radiation you receive as a result of any x-ray type testing. Imagery may show that a finding has characteristics that indicate the possibility of a malignancy BUT only a biopsy can determine with 100% certainty that the finding is indeed cancer. Rather than being upset I would appreciate the fact that the Dr.s are not letting something pass without investigating it thoroughly. Regards ...

I don't think the mammogram is a good answer, ask them to look at the ultra sound again, and do it again.  Not a mammogram.  I have breast cancer and the mammogram did not show it.  They found it with the ultra-sound.   And make them find it if you feel it.  I felt mine 2 years before they would do the ultra-sound.
