8 year old has lump under left nipple

my 8 year old daughter has a lump under her nipple it is about the size of a marble i took her to the doctor and they did an ultrasound, said it was a solid vascular mass (not sure what that means) they want to send her to a surgean to have a biopsy taken of it it has gone down about half the size that it origionaly was and its not as hard im really scared to take her to a surgeon does anyone know what i should do?? my mother thinks she may be developing and im not sure if it starts in just one side first?? she does have other symptoms of maturing but not sure??

It will be hard to determine the exact nature of this lump but for her age, these are most commonly due to benign conditions. Vascular masses would include hemangiomas or lymphangiomas. These can be really hard to operate on and has the tendency to believe. Hemangiomas also usually regresses spontaneously. However, I suggest that the surgeon consult be pushed through so that all of these possibilities can be discussed. Regards and God bless.
