Dear Pam, The CEF protocol is one of the combinations noted by the U.S. National Institute of Health Consensus Conference of 2000, as being suitable for adjuvant chemotherapy (treatment given after surgery to try to prevent or minimize the growth of microscopic deposits of tumor cells that might grow into a
recurrentRecurrent cystitis tumor) for breast cancer. Their findings are based on review of current literature and interviewing experts in the field of breast cancer treatment. The use of AC and
Taxol combination continues to be studied in clinical trials, and I could not find any articles that compare these two treatment regimens.
